The fact that Roblox is changing the logo became known as early as August 23, 2022, due to an information leak. This was officially announced three days later, and at the same time, users learned that the symbol would be introduced into the online platform within a week. The wordmark is generally similar to the previous one – both in color and style. The designers have retained the original slope of the square “O,” which is supposed to symbolize movement and progress. At the same time, the letter itself, as before, resembles a building block.

To show the gaming platform’s evolution, the emblem developers decided to change the Gill Sans Ultra Bold font with too wide lines to a more balanced Gotham, which is also a bold sans serif but has proportional intra-letter gaps and has low contrast. At the same time, this is not the original version of the font but modified because the designers wanted to reflect the concept of Roblox in it.

Lightweight glyphs embody a modern aesthetic. This becomes clear even from the second “O,” which used to be square, but now it has become round. Such a small nuance allowed us to focus on the first “O” – a quadrangular one. The slope has changed a bit: the logo developers have increased it, making it more pronounced.
